At Charlotte’s memorial on Sunday April 3rd Neil Leatherbarrow announced that he was going to set up a charity in honour of his daughter. He said that he would never forget his gorgeous daughter and wanted to make sure nobody else would either.
Billy Elliot productions took this to heart and helped make his desire come true.
On April 19th 2011 the Billy Elliot show worldwide dedicated this one night as a tribute to Charlotte, this included the West End, Broadway, Toronto and the US Tour, and collectively broke all Billy fundraising records, raising just under £30,000 for the Charlotte Leatherbarrow Foundation! As a permanent mark of respect Charlotte’s name will be written in the Billy Elliot London programme for as long as the show continues….
